Welcome to CookingSlim.org!

Welcome to our website! CookingSlim.org is a place where you can get information and recipes to help you lose weight and be healthier overall without feeling deprived.

Although weight loss is important if you are actually overweight, it’s not the entire focus for what we’re trying to do here. If you maintain a proper diet, your weight will balance and basically take care of itself. The actual focus of this site is to teach people what a proper diet really is.

This isn’t a site full of paranoia and scare tactics or anti government propaganda. We understand that the USDA and other agencies mean well, and have a huge job of trying to make sure everyone eats right. The problem is that what’s right isn’t a one-size-fits-all thing.

People of differing ethnic backgrounds were adapted to live in different environments, and many if not most people are of mixed ancestry. So our basic template for a proper diet is actually a paleolithic or pre-paleolithic one, with later adaptations, and then individual tolerances and preferences taken into account.

Before agriculture, people didn’t base their diet on foods that require intense cultivation. People were hunter gatherers, and ate what they found or killed. When humans did develop agriculture, they learned through thousands of years of trial and error how cultivated foods were supposed to be prepared.

Today, many people are overly fat and yet malnourished. Superficially they look like they have enough to eat, but the truth is that if they had enough of the right things to eat, they would not be fat unless they were consciously maintaining a high weight for fertility, aesthetic, or athletic purposes, or have a metabolic problem or injury that impedes their activity.

Scientists have been looking into a “fat gene” lately. They’ve also found that pesticides and other industrial compounds have made some people prone to obesity. Taking all this information into account, it’s easy to understand why people should be mindful of adhering to a more natural, more human friendly diet. It’s the least you can do to buffer yourself against the ravages of so many unnatural dangers, including being unaware of how to eat if you have ”fat genes”.

Feel free to ask questions or leave feedback in the comments on any post here.
